Back to: Film & Storytelling
Your final assignment is a structured watching program: six films over six weeks, each viewed through one lens from this course. Choose your own titles, favorites and classics both work, and assign each week a focus: week one, story structure (mark the act breaks); week two, shot sizes; week three, light and color; week four, editing (count cuts in two contrasting scenes); week five, sound (one scene muted, one blind); week six, a full rewatch of a favorite, tracking setups and payoffs. Log three to five sentences after each.
By the end you won’t just know film grammar; you’ll have caught yourself using it, in what you notice, what you say about what you watch, and how you tell your own stories. That’s the practical outcome this course promised. Roll credits, after the knowledge check below.
